FLACK RACING EYES CONTINUED IMPROVEMENT AT OSWEGO; DAN KAPUSCINSKI TABBED AS PART-TIME DRIVER

Dan Kapuscinski Motorsports Promotions - OSWEGO, NY (February 21, 2020) – The Flack Racing team, with driver Stephen Flack, is eyeing continued improvement in Oswego Speedway’s SBS division in 2020.

Longtime supporters of Oswego Speedway and its race teams, the Flack family made the jump to car owners in 2018 with Stephen, a pure rookie to auto racing, at the controls.

Since then, the team has enjoyed steady improvement, culminating with a top ten finish for the No. 32 machine at Evans Mills Speedway at the conclusion of 2019.

This year the same team returns, consisting of Mike O’Connor, Steve Flack, AJ Larkin and Nick Whalen, as Stephen looks to further improve his growing program.

“I’m really looking forward to this racing season,” said Flack. “I feel at the end of last season, I was really making improvements, and getting my times down to where they needed to be. A big part of that was help from my Uncle Mike Bond and his crew. Since then, I have made some improvements to the car for this season and hope to keep making little gains. I am just excited to get things started. I can’t thank my dad enough; he’s my biggest supporter, as well as my wife and mother. They keep things going for us at the race track.”

Premiere Landscaping, Burger Masonry, Oscar Roofing and The Sting will return to the side of the Flack Racing machine this season, which will be re-numbered to No. 23.

While the No. 23 will be a weekly fixture at Oswego this season, there are a handful of events that Stephen will be unable to attend. Driver Dan Kapuscinski will substitute for those events this summer which include the Grand Prix special on July 4, as well as back-to-back events on August 8 and August 15.

“I’m always eager for an opportunity to race at Oswego and I am happy Stephen called me to fill-in,” said Kapuscinski. “Having a chance to work with Mike O’Connor and the rest of the team will be fun and I hope to be able to help them continue moving in the right direction. As always my racing wouldn’t be possible without the support of my family as well as Mohawk Northeast and Billy Whittaker Cars & Trux.”

Kapuscinski, who won two heat races and scored four podium finishes in only nine starts in 2018, has 12 career Top 5 finishes without a win at Oswego, despite not running a full-time season at the ‘Steel Palace’ since 2003.

Oswego Speedway’s 2020 season begins with an open practice scheduled for Saturday, May 16 before returning on Saturday, May 23 for the Jim Shampine and Tony White Memorials.
