The action is on and off the racing surface this weekend on both Friday and Saturday. The big mid-summer car cruise and Party in the Pits start the weekend off on Friday and the 3rd annual Old Timers Reunion kicks things off on Saturday morning behind the back grandstands before a full slate of racing with the Supermodifieds and the SBS Racing Series.

Events on Friday start at 5:00 in the morning with Dave Longley from News Channel9 bringing his “Dave on the Road” program to the infield of the Oswego Speedway. Guests on that show include Kevin Knopp, Jason Spaulding and Jim Liccardi. Friday night will be the WSEN 92.1 mid-summer Super Cruise and “Party in the Pits”. For the second year in a row, Syracuse Nationals trophies will be awarded for Best Classic Car, Best Muscle Car, Best Hot Rod, Best Flames and Best in Show. The infield will open at 5:00, contest judging will begin at 6:00 and Millennium Music DJ Ron Gray will begin playing your favorites at 7:00. On Saturday morning, the 3rd annual Old Timers reunion kicks things off at 10:00 and the Novelis Supermodifieds and PathFinder Bank SBS Series will be in competition starting at 6:30. There will be a STOP DWI presentation and the weekend is sponsored by WSEN 92.1 FM and Tobacco Free Network. The Tobacco Control Programs that serve Oswego County will add $1,000 to the weekly Gas Card giveaway program this Saturday. Fans will sign up at the Eagles table for the Snap-On Tools and Rise & Shine Gulf $180 giveaway program. Fans can then sign up at the Tobacco Free Network table to be eligible for one of ten additional $100 gas cards.

WSEN 92.1 FM “Good Time Rock n Roll” radio is a long-time supporter of Super Cruises and the Party in the Pits events at the Oswego Speedway. Car cruises are a major part of WSEN sponsorships during the summer months in central New York. They are a sponsor for the upcoming Syracuse Nationals at the New York State Fairgrounds on July 18th, 19th and 20th. WSEN radio is also a sponsor of the weekly “Cruise-Ins” at the Regional Market in Syracuse, every Tuesday night from 5:00 to 8:00. WSEN has been active in their support of racing at the Oswego Speedway this summer by offering some of their listeners the chance to get race tickets for the July 12th or August 9th race dates. WSEN will award some Syracuse Nationals prizes to fans in attendance to the Friday night Super Cruise.

The Tobacco Free Network continues their advertising at the Oswego Speedway in 2008 with a race night sponsorship. The Tobacco Free Network has had a strong presence at the speedway for several years. In addition to signage inside and outside of the speedway, they are the official sponsors of the “Tobacco Free Network family Section” in the front grandstands. This section of seating is painted red and offers a smoke free, non-alcoholic section of seating for families. The Tobacco Free Network of Oswego County is happy to report that in June of 2008, calls to the state-wide Smokers Quitline (1-866-NY-QUITS), more than quadrupled for the same week as 2007 due in part to the new cigarette tax increase. The Tobacco Free Network will be on hand to distribute literature about the dangers of smoking and information about quitting to fans that attended the Super Cruise and will be at the races today.

The Oswego Speedway thanks WSEN 92.1 FM and the Tobacco Free Network for sponsoring the activities on Friday and Saturday this weekend.
