The July 5th Maple View Garage and Ferris Industries Night promises to be a great night of family entertainment at the Oswego Speedway. In addition to the regular night of racing for supermodifieds and the small block supers, there will be an autograph session, old timer’s car races and two "Announcer Match Races”.

The June 21st rain-out at the Oswego Speedway pushed back the Constellation and Entergy “Kids Autograph Session” to July 5th. All of the cars on hand will be on the race track surface at 5:45 for everyone to meet and talk to the drivers. Entergy has special autograph items for the kids and the Kids On-Track mascot, “Red the Eagle” will have autograph cards and free T-Shirts for program members.

The Outdoor Power SBS Announcers Match Race, the “Firecracker 4” will pit “Dangerous Dan” Johnson against the defending winner, “Reckless Roy” Sova. Johnson will be in the Josh LaRochelle #10 and Sova will be in the newly numbered 13 which will be piloted by Chris Proud. The winner of this race will get to face off against “Joltin Joe” Marotta in the finals. The ESTA Safety Park Dragstrip will have twenty vehicles at Oswego on Saturday to put on a demonstration. Ten groups of two by two vehicles will drag down the front stretch. The final pass will be “Joltin Joe” versus the winner of the “Firecracker 4”.

The Mid-State Old Timers Club makes a return visit to the Oswego Speedway with their vintage race cars and joins the Novelis Supermodifieds and the PathFinder Bank SBS series as they each run extra distance feature races.

Maple View Garage joins the list of race night sponsors for the first time in 2008 but they are no strangers to advertising at the Oswego Speedway. They have had Eagle program ads and trackside signage for a few years. In 2007 they became the sponsors of the Front Row qualifiers for the SBS Classic. Maple View Garage owner Andy Masuicca has been an auto mechanic for over two decades. He specializes in GM vehicles but welcomes all makes of cars into his shop located on Route 11 in Maple View. Andy has long been a fan and supporter of selected race tracks and race teams in Central New York. Andy felt that the exposure for his business on holiday weekends at the Oswego Speedway makes sense. Proof of that is his co-sponsorship of this week’s Independence Weekend racing action and coming back on Labor Day Weekend to again sponsor the Front Row Award for the SBS Classic time trials.

Ferris Industries is back too as a race night sponsor in 2008. Ferris Industries has been associated in one form or another with the Oswego Speedway since the early days of the SBS Series when Justin Shea used to drive the Ferris Industries #27 in the old “Limited Super” division. Ferris Industries brings new mowers to the marketplace every year. Some of their recent introductions include the 1500Z capable of tackling tight places, the 3000Z which has a 26 hp Kowasaki engine and the 4500Z which offers the choice of a 28 hp Cat diesel engine or a 35 hp Briggs and Stratton gasoline engine. Ferris is also known for their unbeatable warranty programs on their products.

The Oswego Speedway welcomes back sponsors Maple View Garage and Ferris Industries as sponsors of the July 5th family themed night of events at the Oswego Speedway where the regular classes of cars are joined by the Old Timers Club, the Kids On-Track Autograph Session and the two big “Announcer’s Match Races”.
