The first of five $10 adult admission nights in 2008 comes up this Saturday night as Lighthouse Lanes and the Oswego Sub Shop sponsor the ending of "Opening Week" to start the 58th season of racing at the Oswego Speedway. This annual co-sponsorship night also allows all Oswego Minor Hockey League players in for free who are wearing their jerseys. The PathFinder Bank SBS Racing Series will have their second points race of 2008 while the Novelis Supermodifieds will hit the track for the first time of the season.

Established in 1969, the Oswego Sub Shop is one of the areas favorite stops for a great sub. A Cheeseburger Hot Sub is a popular item on their menu as is the now famous “Al Roker” sub. The menu has expanded over the years to include salads, deli sandwiches and wraps. The Oswego Sub Shop has actively been involved in sponsoring many sporting events in the Oswego area for nearly forty years including the many hockey programs. They have a close friendship with Carolina Hurricane and Stanley Cup winner Erik Cole, from Oswego.  They have added the “Erik Cole” sub as the newest celebrity sub on the menu and you need an iron stomach to be able to enjoy that one. As a major sponsor of Hockey here in Oswego, the Sub Shop is happy to sponsor the May 10th racing as all kids from Midgets on down that wear their Minor Hockey League Jerseys will be admitted for free.

Lighthouse Lanes Bowling Center, just across the street from the Oswego Speedway continues their support of racing in 2008 on the May 10th date. Co-owners Nick Sereno and Bob Hoefer have been strong supporters of the Oswego Speedway for years. They have put their name on the Lighthouse Lanes VIP Tower and they jumped into the competition as car owners with Double Deuce Racing in partnership with Bill Samuels. They field the team cars #22 of Bobby Magner and the #2 for Pat Lavery. Lighthouse Lanes is the place to go on Saturday nights after the races to watch the videos from the night. All year long Lighthouse Lanes is the place to go for league and recreational bowling. Late night Cosmic Bowling is a regular hobby of many area residents on Friday and Saturday nights year round.

The Oswego Speedway welcomes Lighthouse Lanes and the Oswego Sub Shop back as co-sponsors of Minor Hockey League night in 2008. The $10 adult admission pricing will set the family pricing for four at just $24 for the first of five different nights in the 2008 season.
