The Oswego Speedway and the Midwest Supermodified Association (MSA) are pleased to announce that the Burkes Do-It Best Super National 50 on Friday night of Budwesier Classic Week will include the International Supermodified Association (ISMA). The Tobias SpeedSTR's will also be running on that night as they visit the Oswego Speedway for their second race on the 2008 schedule.

The addition of ISMA to the Super National event comes on the heels of several negotiation sessions between Oswego Speedway, MSA and ISMA during the first two weeks of March. The Burkes Do-It Best Super National 50 is the fourth event out of six scheduled races in the 2008 Burkes Do-It Best MSA-Oswego Wing Series. The marquee Super National event will be part of the scheduled events for the fifteenth consecutive year for Budweiser Classic Week at the Oswego Speedway.

The Oswego Speedway, MSA and ISMA are the three main groups of supermodified race cars in southern Canada and the eastern half of the United States. The future and survival of supermodified racing on a regular basis will involve all three groups working with each other to promote the class of racecars. The meetings held in early March centered on not what was beneficial to any one of the groups but what was beneficial for supermodified racing as a whole.

Several issues focusing on keeping costs down were at the forefront of most decision making discussions. As an example, for the running of the Burkes Do-It Best Super National 50 at the Oswego Speedway, it was agreed that the use of a gear rule would help racers control some of the ever increasing costs on a supermodified.

With ISMA joining MSA at the Oswego Speedway on Classic Week, fans will get to see the top stars of both traveling groups compete with Oswego teams that put on a wing for the race. For the second year in a row, the Super National 50 will be run on Friday night of Budweiser Classic Week giving teams from all three groups plenty of time to change over their set up for the Sunday running of the Budweiser International Classic 200.

Promoting the Burkes Do-It Best Super National 50 will take on a stronger presence in 2008 as race teams from all divisions will have special appearances of winged supermodifieds during the season. This series of appearances will be highlighted by Howie Lane from ISMA putting one of his cars on display in the Oswego area leading up to the race itself.

With opening day right around the corner, Oswego Speedway continues to be the “Home of the Supermodifieds”. With ten classes of cars competing at Oswego in 2008, weekly supermodified racing is still a main stay on the schedule. No weekend will be bigger in 2008 than the 52nd annual Budweiser Classic Week. The new format for Friday night of Classic Week will have the Tobias SpeedSTR’s on hand along with the biggest supermodified stars in the USA and Canada from MSA, ISMA and the Oswego Speedway.
