OSWEGO, NY (May 29, 2019) - Lighthouse Lanes, located on Jim Shampine Drive in Oswego, will again present the weekly ‘Up and Comer’ Award to competitors in Oswego Speedway’s Novelis Supermodified and Pathfinder Bank SBS divisions throughout 2019.

The Lighthouse Lanes ‘Up and Comer’ will be awarded to the highest finishing driver in his or her feature event that has not yet won a main event at the Oswego Speedway.

For last weekend’s Jim Shampine Memorial Twin 50’s, Supermodified drivers Dan Bowes and Alison Sload were awarded with the Up and Comer, earning a $25 purchase certificate for any food, drink, or game of bowling at Lighthouse Lanes.

Following the Tony White Memorial 35, last season’s Small Block Supermodified rookie of the year Joshua Sokolic was awarded the up and comer prize for his fourth place run in the No. 26.

In the Super ranks, Bowes earned his first career Oswego top five in the first of the Shampine Memorial Twins while Sload was certainly the ‘Up and Comer’ in the second twin, making history to become the first ever female Supermodified feature winner.

Through fifteen years of operation, Lighthouse Lanes has become one of the premier bowling locations in the Central New York area hosting functions such as cosmic events, bowling leagues, birthday parties, holiday parties, and chicken BBQ fundraisers.

Also part of Lighthouse Lanes is the Hall of Fame Lounge and bar, a full-sized game room, meeting areas, and the bowling alley’s concession stand and restaurant which features it’s popular homemade chicken wings and delicious sheet pizzas.
