OSWEGO, NY (May 24, 2019) - Burke Motorsports will be fielding two race cars for Oswego Speedway’s Season Opener this Saturday night with New England 350 Supermodified veterans John Burke and Mike Scott at the wheel.

Burke was at the track last Saturday afternoon practicing with his No. 01 while Scott will join in on the fun in tomorrow’s Open Practice session from 4 to 8pm.

“I was really excited when I heard Oswego was adding the 350 Super class and knew it was something I wanted to support,” Burke said. “We are hoping to bring two cars to the track as much as possible this season.”

A longtime 350 Supermodified campaigner, Burke is also the race advocate for the 350 Supermodified Atlantic Charter or ‘350 SMAC,’ which competed at Oswego last Classic Weekend.

In the Open Practice session on May 18, the Burke No. 01 was far and away the fastest 350 Super in the pit area. Burke turned laps consistently at 17.4 seconds.

Saturday’s 35-lap Memorial Weekend 350 Super special will mark the first ever regular show for Oswego Speedway’s newest division.

The 350 SMAC event on Classic Weekend 2018 was the inaugural showing for the winged small block racers and was won by New Hampshire driver Dave Helliwell in the Witkum Bros. No. 21.

This Saturday night’s program will also include the Jim Shampine Memorial Twin 50’s for the Novelis Supermodifieds plus the Tony White Memorial 35 for Pathfinder Bank SBS.
