OSWEGO, NY. ( June 21, 2014) - Oswego native Jon Tesoriero took home his first SBS feature win at the Steel Palace this past Saturday night. Tesoriero inherited the lead on lap 14 when the first and second place cars of David LaTulip and Danny Abt made contact with each other entering turn one. It was all set up when the second place car of Abt made a bid for the lead as he tried to go to the high side of early race leader LaTulip. The two brushed wheels entering turn sending Abt's car around. LaTulip managed to keep his car straight after the contact but race official deemed him partly responsible for the caution and sent him to the rear of the field thus giving the lead to Tesoriero. Tesoriero then had to held off a late race challenge from Andrew Schartner to earn his first ever trip to victory lane in the SBS division at the lakeside oval.

At the drop of the green it was Cameron Rowe and David LaTulip pacing the 22 car field for the 30 lap SBS main, with LaTulip gaining the advantage over Rowe entering turn one.

Before the field could complete the first full circuit carnage broke  loose in turn three as No. 93 JJ Andrews and the No. 22 of Mike Bruce came together entering turn three. The contact sent both cars spinning in front of the field sending cars scrambling for position on the racing surface. Eight cars in total were involved in the accident. The No.73 of Alex Hoag sustained heavy damage to the tail section of his car as he slid hard into the foam between turns three and four.

As the field line back up for another try at an original re-started it was LaTulip once again getting the jump on Rowe going in turn one to take the early lead.

Danny Abt quickly made his presence known as he passed Rowe going in turn one on the ensuing lap.

Caution would once again be in the air. This time it was for an altercation involving the No.1 of Anthony Losurdo and the No.8 of Josh Kerr with Losurdo getting the brunt of it, as he hit the inside hub rail causing heavy damage to the front end of the  Losurdo racing No.1 while Kerr was able to continue on. The incident also collected the No. 04 of Kreig Heroth who lost a left front wheel. Race officials sent Kerr to the rear while Losurdo and Heroth's cars where taken off the racing surface via the hook.

As the track went green it was LaTulip followed by Abt, Rowe, Tesoriero and Jason Simmons rounding out the top five.

Everyone looked to get a good start except for the No.77 of Rowe as he dropped off the pace allowing Tesoriero and Simmons to slip by for third and forth.

Andrew Schartner managed to get around Rowe as well on lap five to move up into fifth place.

The top five ran nose to tail until lap ten when the caution would once again slow the racing action.

This time it was for rookie Matt Magner. Magner looked to go into turn one a little hot and looped his car between turns one and two. Magner's car made slight contact with the inside hub rail ending his maiden voyage in the SBS division pit-side.

On the restart It was Abt looking to go racing as he began to work on the race leader LaTulip. For the next five laps the two would battle.  Abt looked to have found an opening on the high side as the two passed the start finish line to complete lap 14. As the two entered turn one the two made slight contact which resulted in Abt's car spinning  to the high side in turn one. LaTulip managed to keep his car pointed in the right direction and continued on. Apon review of the tape it was determined that LaTulip was partly at fault for bringing out the caution and he had to relinquish the lead as he was sent to the rear of the field. This allowed Tesoriero to inherit the lead.

On the restart It was Tesoriero at the point followed by Simmons, Schartner, Barry Kingsley and Tim Gareau running in the top five.

On lap 15 Simmons looked for a way to get around Tesoriero as he made a daring move to the high side entering turn one. Schartner who was sitting third took full advantage of the opening to the low side and took away the runner-up position as Simmons car slid up the racing surface between the turns. Simmons had to settle back into the third position and was not a factor for the remainder of the race.

With 10 laps remaining it was now a two car battle between the young hot shoe Tesoriero and the divisions points leader Schartner to see who would reign supreme on this evening.

The two ran nose to tail with Schartner working the high line lap after lap But Tesoriero refused to let him by as he held his line till the end.

Schartner made one last attempt for the top spot on the final circuit as he tried to get around the race leader entering turn three but came up short as Tesoriero motored to his first SBS feature win He was followed across the line by Schartner, Simmons, Kingsley and Jack Patrick rounding out the top five.
