Ticket sales for the 2007 Oswego Speedway Hall of Fame and Awards Banquet are off to a record pace. The Banquet which will be held at the Turning Stone Resort for the second year in a row is expected to have all top twenty drivers from both divisions on hand and all but one of the Hall of Fame inductees as well.

The Oswego Speedway Awards and Hall of Fame Banquet will be at the Turning Stone Resort and Casino in Verona, New York for the second year in a row.  Several top drivers in the PathFinder Bank SBS Racing Series and the Novelis Supermodified Division will be honored at the event. The top twenty in points will receive checks from the Hoosier / Coca Cola / PowerAde and Eagles Fan Club drivers point funds. Some award winners have already been determined from season long categories while others will be announced at the banquet.

The Oswego Speedway 2007 Hall of Fame Class was announced during the Awards Ceremony on Classic Sunday by Joe Marotta. The class encompasses some of the best people to ever be associated with the Oswego Speedway both on and off the track. The class will be inducted in the Hall of Fame on Saturday October 27th at the Turning Stone Casino and Resort in Verona.

The curtain came to a close on the 57th Annual Sunoco Race of Champions on Saturday night with Jan Leaty picking up his second big money win in the modified division this September at the Oswego Speedway. Leaty, who drew the pole position, ran a solid pace and was inside the lead pack for almost the entire race en route to the popular win.

One day of racing down and one to go during the 57th Annual Sunoco Race of Champions Week at the Oswego Speedway. The Friday night features for the Mini Stocks, Factory Stocks, NORA Small Block Supers and SST Modifieds gave fans in attendance great racing action all night long. For the fans who normally don’t visit the Oswego Speedway they were treated to a tremendous battle in the Small Block Super 35 lap feature for the support division that runs weekly at Oswego.

An absolutely beautiful start to the 57th Annual Race of Champions Week got underway on Thursday afternoon at the Oswego Speedway with an open practice session from 4:00 until 8:30. The largest practice field of competitors ever for the Race of Champions Week at the Oswego Speedway was on hand.

Every now and then, the stars line up and you go through a weekend where everything just falls into place.  Every move you make seems to work out, and you can’t second guess it.  It all just works out, and you have a feeling that things can’t go wrong. TJ Potrzebowski had one of those weekends last year on Race of Champions weekend.  First he picked up the victory in the SST race Friday night.  Then they came back on Saturday, and TJ picked up the biggest win of his racing career as he took the checkered flag in the Race of Champions 200.

Each pit stall this weekend has a unique story of how they came to town, and their strategy of taking home the top prize this weekend.  One of the more interesting stories of the weekend has to do with  a team that combines very  strong ties in history of New York State auto racing, as well as one of the most promising futures in the area as well.
