OSWEGO, NY (June 28, 2013) – Oswego Speedway returns to racing on Saturday night presented by RJ Caruso Tax & Accounting, with a special cash bonus of $302 being posted in memory of former Speedway employee Danny Quonce. Saturday, June 29 would have been Quonce’s 51st birthday, and in his honor former Speedway promoter and RJ Caruso Tax & Accounting founder, Romey Caruso, will add $151 to the winner’s share of both the Novelis Supermodified main event and Pathfinder Bank SBS main event on Saturday night in Quonce’s memory. “I wanted to dedicate this night to Danny,” said Caruso.  &l...Read More...

OSWEGO, NY (June 25, 2013) – After taking a week off for Oswego’s graduation weekend, Oswego Kartway will re-open on Friday night with MBR Speed Shop Night at the Races at the ‘Bull Ring.’ Friday night’s racing will mark the fifth point event of the season, with championship point battles across all eleven divisions that compete weekly at the tight 1/12 mile clay oval. Currently all three of the senior Clone divisions sport the closest margins after four events this season. DJ Shuman holds a slim seven point edge on Dick Dann in Clone Super Heavy, after picking up his first main event win of the seas...Read More...

OSWEGO, NY (June 17, 2013) – After another week off due to rain, Oswego Kartway once again came back in full force last Friday with the running of the annual ‘King of the Kartway’ on the fast 1/12 mile Bull Ring with 94 entries on hand to race for the right to wear the cape and crown. In the Clone Light division it was clear early on that the term ‘King’ may have to be substituted with ‘Queen’ as Kaylynn Simmons, a feature winner earlier this season at Oswego Kartway, was on a rail early on in the No. 44. Simmons started inside row number two behind Mat Grudzien and Aaron LaTulip, even...Read More...

OSWEGO, NY (June 16, 2013) – A veteran of Novelis Supermodified racing at Oswego Speedway for 15 years, Pat Lavery is no longer a statistic. After racking up 36 career top five finishes without a victory over a career that spans back to 1999, Lavery boldly added career top five number 37 in the fashion he has dreamed about for so long, removing his name as the driver with the most top five finishes at Oswego without a victory.   Taking the lead from Kody Graham on lap 29 of the June 1 Novelis Supermodified make-up feature early Saturday evening, Lavery sped away, holding off defending track champion Otto Sitterly for hi...Read More...

OSWEGO, NY (June 16, 2013) – Just one week after collecting his first career Oswego Speedway victory, Dalton Doyle got to do it all over again. The final 20-laps of the June 1 Pathfinder Bank SBS main were to be completed on Saturday, with Doyle inheriting the lead after front runners Josh Kerr and Anthony Losurdo crashed before the rains came two weeks ago. Doyle led a single file restart at lap 10, immediately pulling out to a healthy race lead, cruising on to his second career victory over Mike Bruce, JJ Andrews, Mike Bond, and rookie Jeremy Pitcher. “Man, I hate leading,” said Doyle.  “You never k...Read More...

OSWEGO, NY (June 11, 2013) – In Oswego Kartway’s eight years of operation, the ‘King of the Kartway’ has proven to be the true kick start to summer for the tight and exciting Bull Ring. With three of the past six events at the Kartway being cancelled due to rain, this Friday’s ‘King of the Kartway’ events are shaping up to be bigger than ever with everyone chomping at the bit to get back on track.  With an average of over 80 karts per event this season, and top tier trophies on the line from Platinum Promotional Products, all drivers will have their eyes on the coveted cape and crown...Read More...

Oswego, NY (June 8) – It’s hard to believe that in the almost 40 years “Liquid” Lou Cicconi has been racing that Saturday night was his first-ever trip to Oswego Speedway victory lane in a supermodified. Cicconi, who stands eighth on the ISMA All-Time win list and has recorded many wins in various divisions over his illustrious career, bested his teammate Chris Perley to accomplish the feat in one exciting feature which saw Mike Lichty lead over half the 50-lapper before Cicconi took over. At race end it came down to the dynamic duo of Cicconi and Perley in the Vic Miller machines that raced each other to fin...Read More...
